This class enables the students to assess scientific fundamentals of environmental protection and sustainable development in a global context.
The first part of the lecture presents environmental problems concerning the environmental media soil, water, and air, and explains local and global consequences of human impact.
The central theme of the second part is Sustainable Development. The focus there is on the network of economic, ecologic and social aspects of sustainability.
In addition to the lecture the participants have to do an exercise. As a part of this exercise the students give a presentation about an environmental topic of their choice. |
