In this seminar we will explore London's vibrant theatre scene. After analyzing four plays currently performed in London (seminars in Essen), we will go to London where we will attend a performance of each of the plays discussed. Thus, an integral part of the seminar is a field trip to London where you will experience various aspects of the London Theatre - from the small productions in the London fringe to plays in the National Theatre. We will also visit the reconstructed Shakespeare's Globe and take a backstage tour of one of the London theatres. The field trip will take place in December or January (4-5 days).
