Inhalt: In the first half of the course, we will be repeating grammatical structures. The focus will be on the tense system, which often provides many difficulties for learners of English, but topics like adjectives and adverbs, participle constructions and the passive will be discussed as well. Here, students can also come up with suggestions.In the second part, the focus is on enlarging the students’ vocabulary. We will start off by discussing general vocabulary for discussion and analysis and then go into different fields as texts from various sources will be discussed and worked upon with focus on the relevant vocabulary. Again, the students will have the possibility to decide about topics that are to be discussed. Here, active student participation is needed as vocabulary lists will have to be prepared and discussions will have to be led. Also, it is possible to present a topic in class. Lernziele: English is an important language in all kinds of fields today. Many people are, however, reluctant to use the English they have acquired at school because they consider it to be inadequate. The class is meant to do away with those reservations by repeating English grammar and thus improving confidence in one’s own ability to say things right. Also, very often the necessary words lack for what one wants to express in the foreign language, so students will be given the possibility to acquire new vocabulary in different fields. |
