Current paradigms in second language learning advocate task-based and project-based learning, i.e. TBL and PBL, as one option to integrate real-world-like activities into the language classroom. In this seminar we shall discuss the basic principles of TBL and PBL, distinguish real tasks from mere exercises, and consider how such approaches can be put into practice in the classroom with and without the use of digital media. This seminar will follow a hands-on paradigm, i.e. students will be expected to create sample projects and task-based lesson plans to be presented at the end of term. |
