In this seminar we will be looking into the concept and terminology of "science" and its current use by the media in modern Britain. We will be focusing on a collection of texts on (Pseudo) Science and Ben Goldacre´ s book Bad Science in which the writer and doctor illustrates and discusses the often irrational and (media-)hyped approach to science, particularly to medicine in 21st century Britain.
To get a "Benoteter Leistungsnachweis" participants will be expected to give student-orientated presentations and to submit a paper in which they reflect and evaluate their own teaching performance.
