Cooperative learning means that students work together and independently. The student’s role of a passive recipient changes into an active role in the learning process. The concept of cooperative learning is intended to integrate different teaching methods in order to activate the students.
In this seminar we will discuss different methods of cooperative learning and their implementation in the EFL-classroom. This course will combine the theory discussed with its practical application. The participants will design a grammar course for advanced classes (Sek II) on the basis of cooperative learning. The material devised will be taught by the students in a real classroom situation at a school.
It is expected that students will participate actively and teach the material they devised in a classroom situation.
The course consists of two parts:
- in-class discussions of theory
- visit to a school where you have to teach students using the theory discussed
