Autonomy is a buzz word – we all want our students to be or to become autonomous. Also, the curricula tend to require the development of autonomy in language learning and learning in general. But what is autonomy and how do we achieve it within the constraints that are there? And how autonomous are we as teachers in the first place?
In this course there is going to be a mix of theory and practice. While the course does not aim to give recipes for how to develop autonomy, there are going to be many hands on parts, in which you will explore possibilities and in which you will finally develop ideas yourselves. |
