EFL learners face the problem to overcome the fear to communicate. They have to learn skills to use language in real world tasks. These tasks need to be integrated into the classroom and one way is via cooperative learning.
Cooperative learning means that students work together and independently. The student’s role of a passive recipient changes into an active role in the learning process. The concept of cooperative learning is intended to integrate different teaching methods in order to activate the students to speak.
In this seminar we will discuss different methods of cooperative learning and their implementation in the EFL-classroom. This course will combine the theory discussed with its practical application. The participants will design a conversation course for advanced classes (Sek II) on the basis of cooperative learning. The material devised will be taught by the students in a real classroom situation at a school.
It is expected that students will participate actively and teach the material they devised in a classroom situation. |
