Sozialpsychologische Vertiefung: Affiliation, Bonding, and Human Relationships
Why do individuals respond to Christmas postcards from strangers? Why do individuals maintain harmful relationships? And why do they experience stress when excluded from a group? This course provides an overview of basic social psychological theories and empirical findings concerning the topic of human relationships and social affiliation. We will address the question of why people seek out the company of others and discuss the positive as well as negative consequences of close relationships and group membership for the individual.
