Undeniably, the romantic era was one of the most prolific periods in the history of English letters. Six names spring readily to mind: William Blake, S.T. Coleridge, William Wordsworth, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Keats. This lecture will concentrate on these so-called “big six”, their texts and the contexts that shaped them. A reader with relevant material will be available at the beginning of the term. |
