LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students should be able...1.... to understand the main actors and key challenges of development aid in the Maghreb region –recipient side;2.... to understandthe interplay between national and international actors, as well as between state and non-state actors in the field of development policy –donor side;3.... to understand the sectoral dynamics in selected policy fields of development aid and policy;4.... to transfer theoretical knowledge gained via the readingsand plenary lecture on practical casesdiscussed in the seminar.

Hard skills
1.Knowledge about regional dynamics and challenges in the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia);2.Knowledge about selected fields of development policy (women empowerment, health and social security, education reform);3.Knowledge about the main actors of development aid and their interests (national and international, state and non-state actors).

1.Gaining autonomy in searching for and selecting the relevant information;2.Structuring one’s argumentation (outline for oral presentations and papers);3.Time-pressure and stress-management;4.Oral presentation techniques;5.Feedback-giving.
