EN6_English B2 for ISE-Students - Einzelansicht

Course Objectives:

The course aims at equipping non-native speakers of English with the strategies to improve their listening, writing, reading and speaking skills, using materials for the B2 level. Students should be able to express themselves on a wider range of topics, interact with a degree of fluency with native speakers and produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects.

Course Materials:

Please pick up the relevant materials (B2 reader) from the copy shop (Schug & Real GbR, Reckhammerweg 4, 45141 Essen or Copy Connection, Finkenstr. 72, 47057 Duisburg) shortly before the first session.

Only ISE-Students are allowed to register for this course.

Requirements:

English language skills at the B1 level (approx. 180 class hours).

Obligation to attend all sessions including mandatory attendance for the first session. If students fail to attend the first session and do not have an excused absence, they will automatically lose their place in the language course.

Additionally, students are only allowed to miss 2 complete sessions for the entire semester.

Active participation is required for successful completion of the class.

Taking the final exam is mandatory.

Acquisition of 4 ECTS credits:

Meeting the requirements mentioned above.

Active participation.

Preparation and reworking of each session.

Passing the final exam.

Final Grading Scheme:

60% exam (includes 15% oral exam)

20% Presentation

10% Written Assignment #1

10% Written Assignment #2

This also applies to the acquisition of the certificate for the course. There are no certificates of attendance
