Reflections on how to teach vocabulary and grammar
We all know that teaching vocabulary and grammar effectively and in an interesting way is a challenge. But nevertheless, grammar and vocabulary are essential components for speaking fluently. Thus, we will look at more efficient ways and methods of teaching grammar and vocabulary in combination. In order to do so, we will reflect upon appropriate input and methodology, how to use textbooks and on (your/your mentor’s) teaching practices during the Praxissemester. We will deal with questions such as
- How do I introduce vocabulary (lead in / Vorentlastung)?
- How do students practice vocabulary (umwälzen)?
As you can see, this seminar will be hands-on but it will provide the necessary scientific background as well. |
