The aim of this course is to improve students’ translation and general writing skills with a variety of source texts including newspaper articles, copywriting and literature. Translation exercises will encourage students to recognize the nuances of vocabulary, grammar, register and cultural reference. Creative-writing assignments will give students the chance to test their writing skills and imagination.
Course requirements: regular attendance, active participation and completion of all home assignments. Students will be evaluated by means of continuous assessment (various in-class writing tasks). Students attending the class as part of the Y Module will take an exam at the end of the course. |
