DGlobal Governance and Development discusses basic theories and concepts of global governance, with a special emphasis on developing regions and their participation in global governance processes. We review both state and non-state approaches to resolve common problems of mankind in different issue areas. We will first focus on theoretical and conceptual issues. How do we understand global governance? How do international institutions and other actors contribute to the provision of governance? What is the role of developing regions and actors from developing countries in global governance? We then move on to examine specific areas of global governance, including the environment, sustainable development and the world economy, especially international trade. |
