This workshop will provide participants with the unique opportunity to interact with writer and critic Wendy K. Shaw, who teaches and inspires students to love writing. Shaw is an internationally renowned art historian whose major publications include Possessors and Possessed: Museums, Archaeology, and the Visualization of History in the Late Ottoman Empire (University of California Press, 2003) and Ottoman Painting: Reflections of Western Art from the Ottoman Empire to the Turkish Republic (I.B. Tauris, 2012), and whose numerous articles explore intersections between diverse fields of artistic production. Moreover, Shaw is also the author of Loving Writing: Techniques for the University and Beyond (2022). The workshop will teach students various writing techniques and strategies that are useful for academic as well as creative writing, and will be based on Shaw's Loving Writing. |
