Moral theories aim to tell us which actions are wrong and why. This course will examine T. M. Scanlon’s contractualist moral theory, as defended in his highly influential 1998 book What We Owe to Each Other.
We will read and discuss key chapters from Scanlon’s book, as well as critical responses to Scanlon’s work.
