Although Thomas Hardy is best known for his novels, he in fact came to regard novels as inferior to poetry, and in later life he gave up writing novels altogether. This seminar will give you a chance to get to know Hardy as a poet. It is not only for poetry buffs. As Hardy’s language is fairly accessible, this seminar would also ideal for those who think they could do with more practice when it comes to reading and discussing poetry.
