Digital technologies are now regarded as useful tools for language learning. Interactive whiteboard, smart devices, laptops etc. afford flexible access to learning tools as well as a multitude of apps that make possible a more collaborative and task-oriented approach to classroom practice. The seminar will investigate all of the above technologies, experience samples of digitally enhanced language learning, and discuss criteria for innovative and motivating classroom practice in this area. The theoretical principles of second language acquisition with a focus on task-based learning, authenticity and output-orientation as well as learner autonomy will be discussed and samples of good practice identified. |
