Bemerkung: |
Course outline East Asia in Sociology:
This part of module DA1 explores sociological perspectives on the societies of China (with Taiwan), South Korea, and Japan.
Module DA 1 outline:
The two courses will introduce students to examples of how East Asia (or an individual country of the region) is dealt with and used as an object of academic investigation in sociology and political science. The goal is to strengthen students' understanding on the one hand of how to apply methods and concepts from the disciplines in the East Asian context and on the other of pertinent socio-political conditions in the region. Both courses will begin with a general introduction into the societies and political systems of the region and then discuss peer reviewed articles from the two disciplines on selected topics.
Please note: The schedule for this course is not yet finalized - day, time and teaching format might be subjetc to change. |
