Digital media and technologies increasingly pervade the working world. This seminar explores how work organization, workplaces, and occupations (and the corresponding domain of private life) change in the process of digitalization, and focuses on emerging new forms of work organisation, e.g. the gig economy or virtual teams.
This seminar aims at practicing and improving the participants‘ fluency in (academic) English, i.e. your English should have improved by the end of the term, but it doesn’t have to be perfect at the beginning in order to join the class. Participation is particularly recommended to all students who consider spending a semester or year abroad in the course of their BA Sociology program or will do so for sure in the Global and Transnational Sociology BA program. |
