This seminar will provide an introduction to travel writing, from pilgrims’ itineraries to modern travel accounts. We will work with several introductions to gain an overview of the genre. Colonialism, post-colonialism, as well as the concept of Orientalism are part of this field of studies. Literature will be made available. |
