This course specifically focuses on the use of pictures in foreign language education. Pictures help students to connect what they observe, what they feel and what they experience. They are not only part of our daily lives; rather, they carry out an immense potential for learning foreign languages. This seminar will reflect the impact of pictures covering aspects such as visual literacy and multiliteracy. How can pictures support our teaching? How can they become a significant part of our teaching syllabus? What kinds of pictures can we use for EFL learners? These and many other exciting questions will be examined and discussed in this seminar. Hence, you will be able to develop ideas for your future teaching and hopefully discover the love of art at the same time.
Students are expected to thoroughly prepare and actively participate in each session. Students are required to take an oral exam after completing the module FD 2 (oral exam in combination with the second seminar of this module). |
