The module DA1 consists of two parts: "East Asia in Sociology" and "East Asia in Political Science" which are both obligatory and cannot be split up.

You need to register for both parts of the module!

If you have trouble registering during the official registration period, please contact Mrs. Kogler a.s.a.p. and include your full name, student ID and study program in your e-mail: melanie.kogler_at_uni-due.de

(This text describes the DA1 module as a whole)

The two courses will introduce students to examples of how East Asia (or an individual country of the region) is dealt with and used as an object of academic investigation in sociology and political science. The goal is to strengthen students' understanding of both the disciplines and the socio-political aspects of the region. Both courses will begin with a general, short introduction into the societies and political systems of the region and then discuss peer reviewed articles from the two disciplines on selected topics.

First class: 15. Oct. 2024
