Canada is often seen as a friendly and peaceable country, a popular destination for vacations. But there is more to Canada than this stereotypical image. In this course we will look at some issues concerning Canadians. They will include, for example, the situation of First Nations peoples, Anglo-Francophone relations, and the quest to maintain a “Canadian” culture in the shadow of the United States. Through our examination of these topics, the complexities of contemporary Canadian society will become apparent. |
