Through a reading of key texts by important theorists, this seminar will familiarize students with important theoretical approaches in literary studies such as Structuralism, Deconstruction, and New Historicism. A main focus of this seminar will be on analyzing critically the approaches presented in the texts. This seminar is complemented by my seminar "Theories of Culture".
