The series showcases the broad range of disciplines involved in metropolitan research in the University Alliance Ruhr (UAR): Experts from all three universities as well as external guests give insights into their current work. While the main focus lies on the Ruhr Region, experiences from other metropolitan regions are included in a comparative approach. This semester is the topic: River-Ecosystems in Transformation – Conversion of the Emscher [aktualisiert 6.10.17]

Since 2013, the RUHR LECTURE has been organized by the Institute of Geography at Ruhr-University Bochum and the Faculty of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund. They are now joined by the Joint Center "Urban Systems" at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Lernziele / Learning Goals:

Students are familiar with different approaches to the understanding, representation and management of urban and metropolitan research in different sectors and have an understanding of their interdependencies.

On October, 17th 2017 there is the kick off meeting of the 'Ruhr Lecture 2017/18 (start 5pm): Key Issues in Metropolitan Research. This lecture series is organized this year together with the Emschergenossenschaft. After the meeting we will have time for a "Get-Together" (we offer drinks and finger food). The event on October, 17th, will take place in Essen, Campus Essen, Glaspavillon R12 S00 H12.

The event on November 7th will take place also in Essen (Campus Essen, Glaspavillon R12 S00 H12; start 5pm), the events on 28th November and December 19th will take place in TU Dortmund (Campus Dortmund-Süd, GB III, R.103, start 5pm) and the events on January 9th and 30th will take place in Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Campus Bochum; room HZO 100, start 5pm). Klausur-Anmeldung:

Die Klausur für die E3-Studierenden (ausschließlich) findet statt am Dienstag, 06.02.2018 (Raum:T03 R01 D70), 16:00-17:00 Uhr. E3-Studierende melden sich bitte bis zum 15.01.2018 auch bei elke.hochmuth@uni-due.de unter der Angabe des Namens, Matrikelnummer und des angestrebten Abschlusses zur Klausur an.

Bitte melden Sie sich hier ausschl. für das fachfremde Modul E3 Studium liberale an. (Als Fachstudent wählen Sie zur Anmeldung das fachintern übliche Verfahren; bei LSF: die gleichnamige Veranstaltung ohne das Präfix "E3".) Anmeldefrist ab dem 13.09.2017.
