A successful completion of “Basic course Music-, event- and cultural management in theory and practice” is obligatory to take part in this course!
There will be 1-4 groups taught in English. In the advanced course you can earn another 4 credits. Characteristics of the advanced course: more individual working, more personal responsibility for projects, bigger projects encompassing more than one semester.
In each group we will discuss, manage and finally evaluate examples of specific (and “real”) music concerts, projects and events. We will explore different areas of project managing, teamwork and leadership, and the common value of culture: "culture is the solution..."
In the past there were projects like
- "WOODROCK-Festival" – (see facebook)
- solidarity concerts
- for the "Deutsche Oper am Rhein" and the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra
- for the famous football club MSV Duisburg and a benefit MSV-CD
- "Duisburg singt" (see facebook): several public, low-level open air singing events at central places in Duisburg, e.g. in front of the main station, in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena or at König-Heinrich-Platz (in the city centre).
It is not necessary to play an instrument or to have particular musical knowledge.
Lecturer of this class is Armin Klaes (www.arminklaes.de).
Students of any profession interested in various kinds of project management and cultural development are welcome.
The following projects will be possible in summer 2018 or later:
- 1st Duisburg Horst-Schimanski-Festival June 23, 2018,
