Inhalte: The series showcases the broad range of disciplines involved in metropolitan research in the University Alliance Ruhr (UAR): Experts from all three universities give insights into their current work. This time, the Ruhr Lecture will be focused on different methodological approaches and methodologies used in urban and metropolitan research. Thus, the topic of the Ruhr Lecture in the winter semester 2019/20 is "Methodologies in Metropolitan Research: Disciplinary Differences, Challenges and Solutions”.
Since 2013, the RUHR LECTURE has been organized by the Institute of Geography at Ruhr-University Bochum and the Faculty of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund. Since the winter term of 2016/17, they have been joined by the Joint Center "Urban Systems" at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
Lernziele: Students are familiar with key methodological issues in urban and metropolitan research in different disciplines and in the comparability of approaches across disciplines. |
