Kommentar: | The course aims to encourage students to reflect on the best ways of beginning the process of motivation in the EFL Classroom. More importantly, we will be discussing how we can best maintain motivation throughout the teaching year and beyond. After a brief look at the various theories on Motivation, we will be going into more detail on some of the “Golden Rules” involved: 1) Presenting the tasks properly 2) Developing a good relationship with the learner 3) Increasing learners’ linguistic self-confidence 4) Making the language classes interesting 5) Promoting learner autonomy 6) Personalising the learning process 7) Increasing the learners’ goal-orientedness 8) Familiarising the learners with the target language culture Towards the end of the course, students will be presenting which ideas and possibilities from the course they believe they can implement during their own teaching later. |
