Quantum computing is essentially harnessing and exploiting the amazing laws of quantum mechanics to process information. A quantum computer can solve hard problems as prime factoring, search an unsorted database and quantum simulation. This lecture addresses students with some background in quantum mechanics and will covert he following major aspects:
· Basics of information theory and processing
· Background in quantum mechanics
· Quantum computing with atoms and molecules
· Solid state quantum computing
· Implementations of the most important quantum algorithms
