Getting involved locally and globally is the topic that we are going to explore together with EF students (Oberstufe) from the nearby Burggymnasium. It is a topic that is highly relevant to all of us, that bears great potential for using the vast amount of authentic materials that are available and it is also one of the obligatory topics for the Gymnasiale Oberstufe in North Rhine Westphalia.
In our project, you will work with small groups of students on aspects, such as Fair Trade, Plastic Pollution, Global Warming, Carbon Footprint or Deforestation. You will guide them through the processes of 1) understanding their chosen authentic materials (Projekttag 1) and of 2) producing a statement on their chosen topic (Projekttag 2). Here you can be creative: The statement could have many different formats, it could, for example, be a video podcast or any other kind of (media based) presentation.
