Inhalte:
Are we morally entitled to treat animals the way we do – to kill and eat them, to experiment on them, and to use them for entertainment? Is there a morally significant difference between us and animals that could justify such treatment? In this course, we will critically discuss recent debates over the moral status of animals and the justifiability of relying on animals to satisfy our own interests in the many ways we do.
This course will be a seminar taught in English, and will consist mainly in discussion on assigned readings. Active engagement with the texts and participation in class are essential. |
