The lecture provides an overview of selected recent issues in literary urban studies and will engage with questions of modelling theory, texts as models, representations of urban complexity in literature and other media, the notion of "scripts" in urban development, scenario building, methodological questions in literary urban studies as well as the (potential) contributions of literary studies to inter- and transdisciplinary urban research. Reading material will be supplied electronically through an online repository/"Semesterapparat". |
