What’s scarier than a ghost lurking in the shadows of an old mansion? That’s right, a woman! Especially one that realizes how much potential she has and starts demanding equal rights. In this seminar, we will have a look at the emerging genre of scary ghost stories, and how they connect to a budding women’s rights movement in Victorian England. Literature and a lot of (female) ghost stories will be made available. |
