This seminar will connect questions of digital education in the EFL classroom with the need for EFL educators to develop their professional digital competences. Hence, the seminar will explore challenging and innovative ways into constructing a 'digital curriculum' that prepares future teachers for teaching in the digital world and in digital times. The seminar will embrace a broad variety of different types of digital media, including mobile devices, explainer videos, or digital textualities, just to name a few. Conceptually, the exploration of digital media will also be embedded in EFL-specific aspects of cultural and literary learning. This course will also construct how media can open doors to Anglophone cultures, especially with a view to inter- and transcultural learning, learning about cultural identities and diversity (including ethnic, gender, and sexual identities), and most recently, Digital Citizenship Education. In a similar vein, this course will establish how the English language and Anglophone literatures can be accessed and unpacked through creatively applying digital media in EFL contexts. |
